People often ask me why I chose Icelandic Horses. The Icelandic Horse is certainly not mainstream, and lured me with its smaller size, reputation for gentle temperament, and smooth gait called the tolt. I also appreciate that they come in almost all known horse colors and I find the long thick manes and tails especially attractive if challenging to maintain.
